UIDAI has introduced a completely redesigned Aadhaar app, and it’s a major leap from the old mAadhaar version. It’s quicker, more secure, and loaded with smart features that simplify how you manage your digital identity. For nearly 140 crore Aadhaar users, this upgrade could change everyday Aadhaar usage.
So, what’s new? Here’s the breakdown.
The updated app lets you store and control your Aadhaar digitally right on your phone. You can even save up to five Aadhaar profiles on a single device — ideal for families using the same registered mobile number. Along with that, the app brings stronger biometric protection, selective data sharing, and instant QR-based verification.
Key Features of the New Aadhaar App
✔ Multi-profile support
Save and manage five different Aadhaar profiles on one phone.
✔ Biometric lock
Use fingerprint or facial unlock to protect your Aadhaar information.
✔ Selective data sharing
Share only what’s needed — like your name or photo — while keeping sensitive details hidden.
✔ QR Code Verification
Generate or scan QR codes for quick authentication at banks, government offices, or service counters.
✔ Offline availability
Once the profile is set up, your Aadhaar details remain visible even without internet access.
✔ Activity log
Track where and when your Aadhaar was used.
