UIDAI Launches New Aadhaar App: Faster, Safer & Packed With Powerful Features

UIDAI has introduced a completely redesigned Aadhaar app, and it’s a major leap from the old mAadhaar version. It’s quicker, more secure, and loaded with smart features that simplify how you manage your digital identity. For nearly 140 crore Aadhaar users, this upgrade could change everyday Aadhaar usage.

The updated app lets you store and control your Aadhaar digitally right on your phone. You can even save up to five Aadhaar profiles on a single device — ideal for families using the same registered mobile number. Along with that, the app brings stronger biometric protection, selective data sharing, and instant QR-based verification.

How to Download and Set Up the New Aadhaar App

1. Install the Aadhaar app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
2. Enter your Aadhaar number.
3. Verify using the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
4. Complete face authentication by aligning your face inside the camera frame.
5. Create a six-digit security PIN.
6. Your Aadhaar profile will be added instantly.

How to Add Multiple Aadhaar Profiles

1. Tap on your name on the home screen.
2. Select “Add User.”
3. Enter the second Aadhaar number.
4. Complete OTP verification and face authentication.

Note: All Aadhaar profiles must use the same registered mobile number.
