Launch Date and Overview
Mahindra & Mahindra Limited has officially announced that the facelifted Mahindra XUV 700 will launch in India on January 5, 2026, with the first teaser unveiled on December 8, 2025. This premium SUV, debuting as the XUV 7XO, will feature a distinctive triple-display setup. Currently, the XUV 700 is priced between ₹13.66 lakh and ₹23.71 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India), and the new XUV 7XO is expected to carry a slightly higher price. It will compete with rivals such as the Mahindra Scorpio N, Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, and MG Hector Plus.
Expected Exterior Design and Styling
The 2026 XUV 7XO has been spotted testing multiple times on Indian roads. At the front, it is expected to feature an upright multi-slat grille, dual-pod LED projector headlamps, a sharp air dam, and a wider skid plate integrated into a redesigned bumper. The side profile could include new 18-inch alloy wheels, while the rear will receive connected LED taillights and a refreshed bumper. Buyers will have the option of monotone and dual-tone exterior colors, giving the SUV a modern and bold appearance.
Expected Interior and Features
The interior of the XUV 7XO has been partially revealed through spy shots, highlighting several technology upgrades. Following the trend set by the upcoming XEV 9S and XEV 9e, the XUV 7XO will boast a triple-display setup. The cabin will feature a light-colored theme with beige seats, exuding a premium feel.
Additional features are expected to include massaging front seats, rear ventilated seats in the 6-seater variant, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, multi-color ambient lighting, a wireless phone charger, and sliding middle-row seats.
Standard amenities are likely to include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, power-adjustable driver seat with memory, and dual-zone climate control.
Safety Features
Safety will remain a priority, with the XUV 7XO expected to offer 7 airbags (6 standard), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), auto headlamps, a 360-degree camera, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), child ISOFIX mounts, electronic parking brake, and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), which includes autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and forward collision warning.
Performance and Engine Options
In terms of performance, the XUV 7XO is likely to retain the current engine lineup. The 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine delivers 200 PS of power and 380 Nm of torque, paired with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. The 2.2-litre diesel engine produces 185 PS and 450 Nm, offering a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission, with front-wheel drive or an all-wheel-drive option in the automatic variant.
The 2026 Mahindra XUV 7XO promises a compelling combination of premium design, advanced technology, and strong performance, positioning it as a formidable contender in the mid-size SUV segment.
