Xiaomi has refreshed its affordable C-series in India with the launch of the Redmi 15C. Positioned as the successor to the Redmi 14C, the device brings notable enhancements in display quality and battery capability, strengthening its position in the sub-₹15,000 budget segment. It will compete with popular alternatives like the Realme P4x, Infinix Hot 60i and Oppo K13.
Price and Variants
The Redmi 15C is offered in three colour choices—Moonlight Blue, Dusk Purple and Midnight Black. It comes in three memory configurations: 4GB+128GB priced at ₹12,499, 6GB+128GB priced at ₹13,999, and 8GB+128GB priced at ₹15,499. The smartphone will be available for purchase starting 11 December via Amazon, Mi.com and offline retail outlets.
Design and Build
The smartphone features a textured plastic back panel paired with a rounded-square camera module and a waterdrop front notch. Despite its large battery, it maintains a slim 8.05mm profile and weighs 211g. The device includes an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and also retains the 3.5mm audio jack, catering to users who prefer wired listening.
Display
The Redmi 15C is equipped with a 6.9-inch HD+ display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling, making scrolling and navigation smoother. The panel reaches a peak brightness of 810 nits and carries TÜV Rheinland certifications for Low Blue Light, Flicker-Free use and Circadian-friendly viewing, helping reduce eye strain during prolonged usage.
Performance
Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset combined with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. Users can further enhance multitasking with virtual RAM expansion of up to 16GB, offering additional performance headroom for apps and games.
Software
Out of the box, the Redmi 15C runs on HyperOS 2 based on Android 15. Xiaomi promises two years of major OS updates along with four years of security patches, ensuring long-term software support.
Cameras
The phone houses a dual rear camera system, consisting of a 50MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a depth sensor for portrait effects.
On the front, the device features an 8MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture, suitable for video calls and social media content.
Battery and Charging
The Redmi 15C is powered by a large 6,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging, with the charger included in the box. It also offers 10W reverse wired charging, allowing users to power small accessories or even other smartphones in emergencies.
Connectivity and Audio
The device covers a solid set of connectivity features including 5G (SA/NSA), 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi and an IR Blaster. For audio, it is equipped with a Dolby-certified loudspeaker, delivering better sound output for media and gaming.
